Position Title: Lead Carpenter/Foreman
We are looking for a resourceful, intelligent, confident, and dedicated Full-time Lead Carpenter/Foreman for a project in Masset, BC. This individual must be a fair, fun and firm team player who will support our experienced carpenters.
Daily Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of all workers on site
- Plan and organize on the job training as required during the progress of work
- Ensure Unitech’s Occupational Health and Safety Program is being followed and ensure that safe working conditions are observed by all persons on site at all times
- Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
- Work with the crew “on the tools” to impart efficient procedures and “the tricks of the trade” whenever possible
- Verify all deliveries and turn over signed off packing slips to the Project Manager at appropriate interviews
- Ensure workmanship is in compliance with the approved plan, specifications, show drawings, and referenced standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as a carpenter or in a similar role
- Good working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, procedures, drawings, specifications and building codes
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and team building skills
- Ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude, courtesy, tact and diplomacy under stressful situations with constant interruption
- Effectively manages time, responsibilities, and priorities
- Level 1 (minimum) First Aid certification and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHMIS)
