POSITION SUMMARY
Carpenter duties include but not limited to:
- Demonstrate advanced carpentry skills and impart efficient procedures and “the tricks of the trade” whenever possible
- Provide carpentry skills to build our client projects efficiently and effectively
- Work safely on site by adhering to Unitech’s Health and Safety Program and Work Safe Standards
- Inform discrepancies related to unsafe work standards to direct supervisor
- Perform work at the highest quality of standards
- Ensure workmanship is in compliance with the approved plan, specifications, show drawings, and referenced standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as a carpenter or in a similar role
- Good working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, procedures, drawings, specifications and building codes
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and team building skills
- Ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy under stressful situations with constant interruption
- Effectively manages time, responsibilities, and priorities
- Completion of Journeyman Carpentry Program with related experience, although equivalencies will be considered
- Knowledge of First Aid and Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
